Re: Guide: How to get music, photos and movies on your psp.[Now with AVC]

When I play mpg4 movies the audio is out of sync with the video. I have NA2.0. You are saying I cannot use MPEG-4 anymore??

There are two folders 1 for MPEG-4 and one for the new file format (this is what I thought)

You can play MP4, the out of sync thing might just be the movie.

If I want to play music from a CD on my PSP do I need to copy it to PC first and then transfer to the memory stick?   Do I copy to PC and convert to MP3 then transfer to memory stick?   Does the memory stick then become almost like a music disc in itself? By that I mean I have all these memory sticks laying around with various albums copied onto them and I plug in whichever stick contains the album(s) I want to listen to?

How much data does a memory stick hold?   I guess there are various sizes but say I have several 80 minute CDs..........how many can I cram onto one memory stick?

These questions are dumb I know.................but I've been wondering while I bide my time before buying a PSP.

Yes, you need to put the CD on your PC first. Then they should be in a compatible format.
Amount of songs Memory sticks can hold:
128MB:30 songs
256:60 songs
512:120 songs
1gb:240 songs
2Gb:480 songs
This is very approximate. It depends on what format and how long the song is, if your songs are in atrac3 format you can hold many more songs.

Format your memory stick if you haven't done so already.
Movies:
Movies must be in either AVC or MP4 format.
Please note that you can only use AVC formatted movies if you have updated to 2.00.

Re: Guide: How to get music, photos and movies on your psp.[Now with AVC]

I found a site with many MPEG4 videos.  yet if I try to directly copy them to my PSP (after changing the name to the correct format and in the correct directory), it says unsupported format when selected under the video on the psp.  Is there a difference between MPEG4 files or does the PSP need special encoding?
