Some of you probably know about Pandora already. For those of you who don't, it's a web-based extension of the Music Genome Project. You create your own "radio stations" by typing in the artist or name of a song that you like and it matches those keywords against similar artists and/or songs and plays them. You can give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down if you like or dislike any of the songs. The latter will automatically skip the current song and load another. You can also arbitrarily skip songs if you wish. Yes, there is a limit to how many you can skip per-hour, but it's not such an awful thing. Best bit? You get to experience new music that you have a good chance of liking all for free (Unless you're using the cell-phone version). More information is available at its
website or
Wikipedia entry.
What I'm proposing is a dedicated, low-resource-hogging Pandora application for the PSP. Place it right on the XMB, probably as a sub-item under Internet Radio. And please include support for the people who still have fat PSPs. I suppose I'd have better luck pitching this directly to Pandora, though.
