PSP 4000 2010?

36 replies 16 views Edited Mar 26, 2010

I've been hearing a lot of talk and rumors that there may be a new psp model coming out this year.  I don't feel like buying a new PSP Go if some new tech is coming out in a few months....what do you guys think?

And I wasn't aware the UMD went anywhere or needed to be brought back.......

To the OP, I wouldn't hold your breath on a new PSP this year. But then again I could be wrong.

There was that one leak but honestly, it's inevitable. PSPgo has clearly failed, they understand that UMD is the way to go now, and they need a new iteration of PSP-K.

I wouldn't necessarily said they need one or that it is inevitable. Also, putting out another revision would be money wasted for Sony when they could be working on the next generation. As 'you know who' has already announced their device and are about to put the hype train back on its tracks. The new device would most likely defeat another PSP-k iteration in most ways possible. Therefore, Sony should begin getting its hype train on track also, so that they may have a level playing field with their competitor. The onyl way I see Sony putting out another iteration of the same device is to release it within somewhat close proximity to the release of the next generation PSP. (Similar to how the competitor's 'useless' reiteration is being released right after the announcement of the successor to the said iteration.

I'm sure if Sony were to release a new one it would be close to E3, and definatly at E3. (June 15-17)
