Problem putting a game onto my PSP

6 replies 15 views Edited Sep 15, 2010

Hello fellow psp gamers.

A couple of years ago I bought Mortal Kombat II (PS1) off of the playstation store. I tried putting it onto my PSP 3000 with no success. It just wont let me copy it. Anyone know how to get it onto my psp?

Activate the system first, make sure it has the latest firmware.

It is activated and updated. I can't download it onto my psp from the PSN store, and I can't copy it to my PSP.

I don't think that's a PSOne game.  There is a MK2 for PS3, but it's the arcade game emulated specifically by the PS3, not a console port.

MK2 was never released on the PlayStation in the US.  MK3 was the most recent game in the arcades at the time, so it was chosen for the system's launch period.  MK2 got a Japan-only release a year later, while the US got MK Trilogy.

You can't.  That game is no longer available in the Playstation Store, which means that Sony no longer has a license to distribute the game.  Without a license Sony can't generate any more license files for the game, which means that it can't be installed on any more consoles.  That includes PS3s and PSPs.  That happens sometimes, and if you read the Playstation Store terms of service you will note that it states that Sony does not guarantee that content that you purchase in the Store will be available to download again in the future.  When you copy a game from a PS3 to a PSP it doesn't just copy the file.  The PS3 also contacts the Playstation Store to activate the PSP (if needed), and generate a license file for the game.  In this case the Playstation Store is no longer issuing license files for the game, so it can't be installed on any additional consoles in the future.
