I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that the browser is the same for all PSPs. The PSP browser just sucks. But, really, browsers for ALL non-computer devices suck.

Sony put a limit on how much RAM the browser uses. If I remember right I think it's about 4-8MB. (out of 32 and 64 for the Phat and Slim/3K/Go)
There's a Hi-Memory version of the Netfront Browser released. I have it on my PSP-1000 and I can search Google Images and load 20 pages full of images without the browser skipping a beat. It uses the full 32MB of RAM offered by my 1000 and 64MB my brother's 2000.
On my 1000, I have a page of pictures from google images on one tab, another tab contains an article with some photos, and the third is a Wikipedia page with some photos. Closing all three tabs, I could keep tabs on my favorite blogs, then read some more interesting stuff again.
On the 2000, it rocks. 64MB of RAM. My brother reads manga on it. He can go read for hours without an "insufficient memory" error showing up until the battery goes flat. I tried it, and I could hammer the "next" button on Google Images and it just displays pictures after pictures after pictures without whining for memory.
And best of all, the update is free!
Oh wait, the Hi-memory version is for PSPs with "special abilities" only. Sorry.
Now Sony, you know and I know the browser can do SO MUCH MORE if you haven't limited it.
