New Support Contact Option: Live Chat

You may have noticed PlayStation recently removed immediate access to the Consumer Services Email Support form.  We’re happy to inform you that we are replacing that support channel with a new service – Live Chat.

 

Live Chat is ideal for solving PlayStation issues (*not message board problems) like:

 

  • Password Reset
  • Activate/Deactivate Systems
  • PSN Voucher/Promo Code Problems
  • General inquiries
  • … and more!

*Visiting the “Contact Us Options page”, you’ll see a new offering on top of the options listing. When there is a PlayStation CS Specialist available, this link will be active and ready to click! When there is no Specialist available, or simply an unacceptable wait time, the link will be inaccessible.

 

We appreciate your patience in-between services, and truly hope to only improve our support services by introducing this change. Meanwhile, as an alternative to ever having to call Consumer Services over the phone, you can always depend on the Knowledge Center on PlayStation.com, our @AskPlayStation Twitter account, and this forum for after-hours support.

I'm surprised by this. One can only wonder how people new users will be doing this instead of posting in the forums first. I think some of us can agree here that users with PS Home issues will go and try this. Wouldn't they just get re-directed to the Home Support section on here?

I'd noticed the lack of email support some time ago now, & had more recently noticed then 'live chat' option, something that has been offered to me when I have visited the website lately.

 

I too will be interested to see how many people will be directed to or back to these Forums for assistance with their queries, on a regular basis people have telephoned Sony customer support only to be told to come here, not that it isn't nice to be thought of here as helpful, which it is, but I did sometimes wonder if Sony customer support used the Forum Support as a kind of 'catch all' if they themselves were not in a position to assist or the right person wasn't available.

No,  support does not formally  direct users tot he forums for spceific issues, but merely suggests the forum community as another option if the there is no known solutino for their issue.

   Ihave the 7.1 headphones and when i plug them into the usb to charge them the mouth pice blinkes red a few times and thats it they wont charge. whats the problem?
