So suddenly my ps3 started giving me this "The file system on the system storage is corrupted and will be restored" message but everytime I go to press 'OK'  it takes me to a screem that says "Restoring... Do not turn off the system." and it stays stuck at 0%. Don't know what's going on with it, anyone know what I could do?

Boot the PS3 in Safe Mode (http://playstation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1488/kw/PS3%20Safe%20Mode) and try the recovery option 3, Restore File System.  If it doesn't complete, or doesn't solve the problem, then try option 5, Restore PS3 System.  If that doesn't work, then you probably need to replace your hard drive.  In any case, whatever was stored on the PS3 hard drive is probably lost already.  You can download Playstation Store games and DLC again, but any save data or Playstation Store videos that you haven't backed up are probably gone.
