I have been out of town for work but I have Auto Updates through Plus turned on, should I expect my system to be bricked when I get home tonight?
You'll be fine. The update isn't applied automatically...it's just downloaded until you allow it to be installed. Don't let it install and you'll be fine.
i have a 120gb hard drive installed in my ps3 and i want to upgrade. I have this hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8
I understand your frustration, I have been here since tuesday night, I have posts within the first 5 pages. I have been sitting here waiting just like the thousands of other people. And it's flawed logic to think that considering its a small possibility that can fix your ps3 via a smaller hdd or a fix that sony has assured us will fix this issue. Unfortunately for a lot people, you included feel empty because of this, and are looking for any kind of half-assed solution probably doing more damage to their ps3's and hard drives. Meanwhile, I'm playing my vita right now... patiently waiting, not a care in the world for 6 more days.
in my case its not a big issue to try this because i am doing it on my original 80gb Hdd my 750 which is bricked is not being touched until sony puts out the fix and i have it backed up to 250gb external so if i **bleep** up my 80 gb its nothing to reformat it as everything on it is on the external as well so everyone who has a nother hard drive to test this on are not really risking anything so i dont see why its a bad idea to try 4.45 is already on my system regardless and if it doesnt work then it doesnt work
So does anyone know if you have update 4.45 installed is it safe to go back to a bigger hdd or our we stuck with the original hdd???
your probably stuck with the original until the fix this is not a permenant solution just one to get people back up and gaming until the fix
