I have the slim version and it's locking up on me. It does look like a common problem with all different PS3 models from what I'm seeing.

I was hoping to find a fix on here...so far no luck.

UPDATE (11/17/12): A patch has been released to fix the lock-up/freeze issues affecting Call of Duty: Black Ops II online gameplay on PlayStation 3. Simply boot up Black Ops II and sign in to play online, and the patch will install automatically. Again, we thank you for your patience during this matter.

The so called "patch" that activision said they released and was supposed to solve this proble we shouldnt be experiencing in the first place, didnt work at all. i downloaded the patch and got 1 game in. this is really some BS, how can they make a game that obviously doesnt work on the Fat Ps3 system? didnt they test the game out at all on the playstation...Im never buying a COD game again.f this...

Me too..... updated the newest patch. My ps3 (fat) original, 60 gigs still shuts(crashes) about 10 mins into Campaign......... **bleep**!!! Come on fix dis...................

**bleep**, same here! I have the fat ps3, recently had it fixed for the YLOD and it was working fine with any other even uncharted 2 but 10 min in with black ops 2 multiplayer it just turns off like the YLOD symptom. Plz message me if anyone finds a solution!!

PATCH DOESNT WORK

It's NOT your ps3,  i've played zombies about 15 times in the past 2 days, even got to round 20 on the farm, today when i went to play my ps3 wouldn't read it, i thought oh **bleep** my disc reader is messed up now, nope...plays ALL of my games except Black ops II. Why would it load black ops II before and not now and why is it reading all of my games and not this one anymore. Also i've been playing the crap out of ACIII..no problems. The problem is Black ops II Disc. I think there is an error on it somewhere. btw there is NO cracks on my disc or scratches, it's completely mint.

My boyfriends also having issues (On my fella's account) - but our PS3 40gb has burnt out - yellow light of death (have tried the repair on youtube and it has not worked) - apparently there is a fix to stop it from doing this which Activision have released but having looked at the comments about this - the fix does not work. I personally am going to be emailing Activision because I want my money back and want the money for the repair of the PS3 because it was fine until BO2 was inserted and my bf tried to play it :@
