So recently my PS3 had become corrupted and we lost all of our save data and purchased games from the hard drive. I looked here on the forums and the only solution didn't appear to work on my console. So I moved on. Today, however, I signed into my Playstation Network account only to find that all my Trophies, purchases and friends were all deleted from my account. My brother also an account and his was fine. I can't call Customer Service since it's after they've closed so I wanted to hear if anyone else has had this issue and if they've come up with any solution? I mainly worried about my purchases since I spent a lot on Little Big Planet 2 for costumes and bought a few games even.
The trophies you lost is due to you not synching to the servers.
For the PSN friend list, they shouldn't of been affected at all. Which is odd. Maybe it's a loading issue. That can happen.
All purchases made under your account are still there no matter what. You just have to re-download them. But remember you can only download games and video so many times per activated console.
The corruption of the PS3 should not have affected the friends list, and certainly would not cause you to lose any purchases. Playstation Store videos can only be downloaded one time, so if you don't have a backup of those then they are gone for good. You can download Playstation Store games and add-ons an unlimited number of times to either of your activated PS3s. Your trophies would only be lost if you never synchronized them with the server, which is unlikely with recent system versions. The only explanation is that you did not sign up for Playstation Network with your new user login profile using the same e-mail address that you used on the PS3 previously.
