For the Vita, you press the PS Button and Start at the same time. Not sure about the PS3.

Cheers did that, its only for end results but my mate told me there's a way with both but he didn't have a clue lol

There is none for PS3. Unless you have a capture device for camera.

I think there is a way to use the PS Eye Camera to take pictures. Never tried it though.
