I don't think DmC quite deserves the critical acclaim that it has recieved. It's not a "bad" game, though.

- The gameplay is repetitious (platforming, clear the room of enemies, rinse/repeat).

- It lost the "Castlevania" feel that the originals had.

- The combat is accesible but lacks depth. 

- Vergil and Kat are duds, hard to connect to these characters.

- Dante redesign is refreshing. Looks kinda boring though (caucasian male with short black hair). Zzzzzzz

- Bosses are ATROCIOUSLY easy until you hit the higher difficulty levels.

- Style points system is too easy to reach "SSS."

Yeah, it bombed pretty bad, despite the good reviews. If I'm not mistaken, DmC is the lowest selling part of the franchise, and you know the game sold badly when Capcom had to cut their expected sales in half in order to meet demand. Not even 2 mil units sold, it just barely broke 1 mil. I remember a long time ago Capcom intended the game to sell 5 mil. How silly.

its not lowest selling franchise (unless you count lifetime sales) only DMC4 has beaten it for its time im almost positive

I gotta say I liked the new Dante a lot more than the old one, glad they put that one in allstars.

I don't know anyone irl who doesnt like the new dmc over the old ones either actually.

The frame rate sucks though

I actually liked DMC but I'm still mad a character that had never been in a game before was even considered for the roster

The amount of advertising in this game is ridiculous.

I just hope we get some older gen characters to balance it out - the hope is that Abe & Lara are next.

thats exactly what i said....but also that was only for the time its been out. DMC4 sold horribly, which caused the reboot, people said after 4 they didnt want a 5. so reboot. 1,2 and 3 didn't sell that well actually either. lifetime sales were alright, about 2 million each i believe, but its a cult game, has a cult following .
