Exactly, he triggers that feeling right away, Onimusha 1 was short, but it was a great game, Onimusha 2 was meh, they had a new main character because Samanosuke was missing after the ending of Onimusha 1.
Onimusha 3 was amazing, you play through time, 2 main characters, the second being the famous actor Jean Reno, you both switch timelines, and you control Samanosuke on a 2000 and something monster invaded Paris, fight your way to the Eiffel Tower, and have awesome swordsman fights with very powerful enemies
The fighting game, Onimusha Blade Warriors (Buraiden) featured almost all the characters from the series, as long as Megaman.Exe, Megaman Zero, secretely unlock Gargant (the blue demon from the trailer) Kojiro Sasaki and his Arch-enemy Musashi Miyamoto according to this they were really incredible, the best swordsmen ever, you can even play as some of the monsters and all the important bosses, on a crap lot of stages. Each character had a storyline with small changes on it depending on your playing, it had a ton of secrets, you could customize your character's swords, abilities and all these were unlockables, some of them were stage-hidden, some others required you to go through a set of 10 levels and then 20, on a stage called the Phantom Realm, that is a place swarmed with a lot of enemies, it's a small survival.
And Onimusha 4, was ok ,it had a nice story related to the main, new characters although a main important one is revealed to be there at the end, and the ending leaves an opening to a new game, gameplay-wise was really entertainning, as it was a sort of secret co op game.
Oh so that's why, they probably had problems with him, that explains Dawn of Dreams.... I guess Soki is okay ... xd
