Guys please consider that they shut down the creators of star hawk due to lack of sales. As for the cycle, that sucks guys... Honestly I feel corporations have corrupted the gaming field. They don't see the creation of a game as providing gamers a piece of joy and labored but a profit. :/
LightBox was a dying company before starhawk was really released. They didn't get shut down because they are currently developing mobile games now. Just because some people at super bot got laid off doesn't mean this game is screwed. The sales are good, they meet was SB wanted, the DLC will help, this company isnt going anywhere.

The DLC wasn't 'pushed back' - it was never announced it would release in January. IGN reported it would, nothing was official. Also, if Omar Kendall's interview recently on the podcast is any indication, they are planning on releasing the next DLC sooner (reason they're waiting until March to make the announcement is to keep the hype up on the current DLC).
As for the layoffs impacting DLC/update developments - you have to keep in mind, each employee is specialised to perform a particular function. It's not like one employee can be put on work on just anything, so the likely effect of these layoffs is to take away the members who are no longer needed.
Pretty much exactly this. ^
