So that's what they've been up to. This probably explains where their resources have been going lately (and why Ascension was so sub-par).

As long as the writing is good, I might consider it. This'll be their first non-GoW game since Kinetica on the PS2.

P.S: If they don't finish work on Dart, I'll be passing this one for sure.

If it is not All-Stars related, then I don't really give a s...ingle buck. They HAVE to focus on what fans are asking for.

I'm actually pretty interested in what it is. I hope it's an exciting new IP. Maybe we'll see it at GamesCom...

It says "officially unannounced," so of course it wouldn't be All-Stars related.

The fact that their team was working on Ascension without the full work-force behind it leaves little wonder why Twisted Metal, Starhawk, and All-Stars have been getting ignored. They pretty must have had this game in the pre-production phase after GoW 3 was released (like Naughty Dog splitting their team in half to work on The Last of Us while the others handled Uncharted 3). According to this article, their team-size doubled around the time it entered the planning phase.

I'm starting to hate the mere idea of this IP.

Okay, I've got to rant: This new title's planning phase goes back to approximately Januray 2011. Now don't get me wrong, a long pre-production is almost always a good thing for an upcoming title (as The Last of Us showed).

Yet in the past it's also been shown to degrade the quality of the IP on the front-burner. And in the case of SSM, it's caused them to outright ignore IPs that they've been given.

According to the article I posted above, they gained nearly 100 members for a 200-person team around the time this game was being planned. According to the article at the top, they moved 150 of those people onto this new project after Ascension went to retail, meaning some 50 people were doing pre-production on it. In other words, they always planned to put their entire work-force towards it after they were done with GoW.

Why didn't they simply say no when Sony asked them to handle abandonded titles? They accepted full responsibility for Twisted Metal, Starhawk and All-Stars knowing full-well they couldn't have possibly given them any of their attention. All those games were handed off to them well-after this game was in its planning stage (Fat Princess' main team fell apart sometime in 2011 and they later abandoned themselves it for Escape Plan).

They didn't have to become the graveyard for Sony IPs. They were trusted to treat these IPs correctly. But they didn't, nor did they ever plan on doing so.

**bleep** this developer.
