Let's hope they keep making DLC and patches, for all we know they could just drop support.

Doubt it, you don't publicly announce a studio will be supporting a game unless you intend them to. Santa Monica had been pretty vocal on Twitter regarding the subject as well. Lets just wait until we receive all of what SuperBot has planned before jumping to conclusions.

Well support for Starhawk was also announced to be supported by SSM after Lightbox left and they haven't done **** for Starhawk.

Starhawks sales were abysmal unfortunatly, not even half the sales of PSABR on the PS3 alone (excluding digital copies & Vita sales). The game did receive plenty of DLC, just go on the store and see for yourself, although because the sales were so poor, all of it was given to PS Plus members for free, along with the campaign, in hopes of netting some digital sales for the multiplayer component. All Stars is well enough for them to want to support it, considering it only takes a small team to work on it, and sales for a game like this only increase over time (SSBB sold way more copies in its second year of release then it did on its first). Ofcourse I don't imagine support to be regular, infact I expect it to end after the roster count goes upto 26 (as I did pre-SuperBot leaving), as the console cycle will have reached its end, so any future support for the series would be in the form of a sequel.
