Re: Anybody here play on an HDTV and Next Gen PS4 Jaggies?

And just an FYI for future reference, if the max resolution your TV has is 720p, then it is technically considered a "Partial HD" Television. True "HDTV" is run at 1080p.

Calibrating the TV is for color, contrast and sharpness. It wont do anything as far as visual effects in a game.

What TV do you have? Brand? Make? Model?

That is just weird... A buddy had a 720p tv and it looked fine just the picture and letters were bigger then usual..

i'm thinking the hdmi cable is either bad or it is one of those rare ones that don't support 720p, yes they are out there....

Or it could be your tv. start with the cable and move on from there...

every hdmi supports any resolution. even stanard. dont know what your smoking.   TURN YOUR SHAPNESS DOWN

I have jaggies and bad quality on those that you mentioned I might just go back to standard CRT TV.

Jaggies are usually the Game Developers fault. I get them sometimes on cheaply made games. ( Defiance being one of them ) Usually AAA game titles won't have these.. ( Battlefield , Call of Doodie , Skyrim ) It's usually just Lazy game development and they didn't polish the game's visuals enough

I have jaggies on pretty much everything I might just go back to standard definition CRT TV.

Dont worry about it, hes wrong. The calibration has nothing to do with the picture quality in a video game.
