Digital VS. Physical.

55 replies 568 views Edited Oct 23, 2013

If ps4 games download speed really is as fast as they say it is.. I will be switching to download after my first two launch titles. That way I don't have to run to the stores all the time. The only thing that was holding back for me on ps3 is that I don't feel like waiting for a download to take half a day

Was there ever a VS comparison?

You seem pretty much decided. I however will stick to physical. I wont support digital unless I really have to.

Yeah exactly. Until the pre order bonuses are better and you can "sell" digital version for some kind of currency, then I'll stick with physical.

Physical. Always. I like owning my games. I like being able to look and just see my entire games collection.

The day consoles turn into digital only is the day I move on to PC.

If you have a slow download speed, the download will take long regardless.

I haven't tried a digital pre-order yet but I assume you have to pay full when you pre-order it (is this correct?). I like paying off for my pre-orders half first then half when I pick the game up release day (or something similar to that) so I will probably buy at least half of my games as physical copies. I'll use most of my storage for PS+.

Half a day to download a game? You must have dial up internet. LOL. I suggest upgrading to comcast. You can download a 10GB game in less than a hour.

The speed of the device is only half the equation... If you have slow internet, digital isnt for you.

Ignorant question here: does Sony and the game studio that make the game get more money when you buy it digitally (PS Store) or physically (like Amazon, Walmart, etc.)?

I've always gone physical copies and will probably stick with. Like userusb said, my hd will be for ps+ stuff.

The only things that would change my mind would be a performamce boost and being able to trade digital copies.
