Re: Dual Shock 4 - No Analog Buttons, opinions ??

We did have control over how fast we went. It was floored or coast so you had to tap the gas so to speak...at least I did. As far as racing games go, I think the  die hard racing fans will opt for a wheel rig.

do you think - would it be possible to have a toggle on/off to switch between digital and analog face buttons ?

(kinda like for the sticks on DS1/DS2)

The Problem people have is that they are way too used to the Original Controls...

X for Gas on a Driving Game...

The Problem with that is that X is just a Button, not really that realistic for a Driving Game or Shooting Game...

Where as R2 actually allows you to Control how fast your going or how much ammo your using up, just by it's self...

You can Drive slow or Drive fast with R2, where as you can't do that with an actual Button like X...

And I think that is why they are trying to steer People away from the Old Controls, & use the Newer Controls for Games now...

--------------------------------------

Again, I have no problem with X or R2...

It would be a lot easier if People had a Choice of X or R2, though, @_@

As long as the controller feels good in my hands, I'm not really worried about it...

Agreed. I think the DS4 looks like a long-overdue update to the playstation controller layout. I really like the ergonomic grips on the back. I think it may take a little getting used to, but I think in the end most everyone will come to like it more than the DS3.

analog buttons are pressure sensitive - so you can control your speed with X just fine - i like playing GTA with Classic controls, as do lots of casual gamers.

were people actually bothered by the analog buttons on the DS3 - i never heard it.

It'll be weird but it's not gonna be the end of the gaming world for PS4 or anything lolol. It will be a great update and bring the NEW gaming probably more comfortable for gamers.

I personally don't care. I use the right stick for driving in games like gt5 and the only game that I played that utilized the analog buttons were the old MGS games and those controls were awful. I'm happy for the changes
