Well I just got done using the PS3 for my P90X video then I turned it off..  Showered then came back to play some Black Ops. I get online just fine and get ready to play. I go to click on Hardcore TDM and the screen freezes. The game has frozen a couple times on occasions and I would just manually turn off the PS3 and then fire it back up later.  Well before this I went ahead and ejected the disk. 

So I turn it off, wait a couple of minutes then fire it back up. Everything seems to be running just fine. So I insert the Black Ops back in, and soon as it gets in and I would imagine starts reading the disk, the whole screen goes all messed up and glitches. It won't let me choose anything or even see what I am doing. So I eject the disk, and then manually power down.

Fire it back up after a few minutes. Everything seems to be working again. I even fire up NetFlix and look around it. Check my messages. All Good. So then I popped in Madden 11' and the screen goes all glitched and I can't read anything. It wont let me do anything either. So I eject the disk and manually power down.. AGAIN.

After about 5 minutes I fire it back up, and nothing on the screen shows up at all. It's just a black screen. If I use the controller and scroll left or right I can hear the "clicking" sound of going left/right. But nothing on the screen shows up.

Does anyone have ANY idea what is going on? I would REALLY HATE to have to call Sony and have it sent in.

Maybe you should reformat the PS3 firmware. Please create a backup image first before formatting.

If the problems still persist then you have no choice. Opening PS3 up is at your own risk.

he could just go into the recovery menu first and rebuild the data system, and see if that does anything.

I'll try this and see what it does...  I guess I'm up for just about anything to make it work.

I'd really hate to open it up myself too. Not sure if I am smart enough to fix it.

Well.. I contacted Sony and I am sending it in for service..  They offered me the 120GB Slim for $99 vs the 60GB Fat for $129. So I took the offer. Guess I'll have it back in 3-5 weeks..

Here's the history..

• Purchased New: 12/23/06 - $698.26 (60 GB PS3 & PS3 Game) so ~$620 w/o Game
• First YLOD: 2/25/09 - $149.00
• Second YLOD: 4/02/09 - $0.00
• Third YLOD: 11/02/09 - $149.00
• Fourth YLOD: 2/04/10 - $0.00
• Fifth fWONk UP: 1/24/11 -- $99

Total: - $918.00

+ Another $99 = $1017.... On the console alone

jeez, it was just a 60gb i probably would of just got a new one after the 2nd at that pointa  reflow would probably only last 2 months at most.

Yeah, looking back I would have done things differently.  But hopefully this 120 Slim will be better... Although it's still a "Factory Refurbished" model..

I also have problems with my ps3. Happend when I was playing black ops 2. It froze while I was playing an I turned it off then turned it back on. When I did that my screen glitch with a green screen. .. This is my screen I have the fat ps3 60GB  *PLEASE EMAIL ME*
