Getting a new PS3

6 replies 107 views Edited May 18, 2013

My Ps3 recently broke . It's a 60Gb second generation. It's not that much more expensive to buy a new , super slim playstation than it is to send it off to get fixed. During its final days, my playstation had problems runnning the some of the newer games like Black Ops 2 and  Rugby Challenge.

My question is that if I do fix my old playstation ,will it be able to run the new games?

Thanks

I've had my original 60g reballed by Endless Electronics and have had no trouble running any games.

I don't see why an old (fully functioning) ps3 couldn't play a new ps3 game..

A) wait for a ps4
B) trade it in "towards" a super slim and you can get a LOT more money. i traded my broken (reading discs started to malfunction) 120gb slim, and i got like $225 for it. my friend traded in his perfectly fine 250gb slim and got $175 for it.

however, at this point, i would just play digital games (if the disc reading broke) and just wait for a ps4. if you had a vita, i would say sell ps3 and play vita till ps4, but youre choice. i love my superslim (there are people that hate on the top loader though) only difference is that the "eject disc" option is gone.

I have been thinking of buying another PS3 for myself but I want to wait and see how Gaikai will work first on the PS4. It would be nice if it did not require a subscription fee to access purchased games on there.
