Anyone know if that would be a good surround sound for the ps3 considering the price?

It looks it would be. I have a Sony Bravia DAV-HDX285 (which is no longer availabe) and it's great for gaming. It's wireless-ready, so I could add more speaker if I wanted. If you have the place to set the speakers, sub and receiver, go for it. The only drawback is all of the wires; that and you have to (or don't, mainly up to you) recalibrate the speakers if you decide to rearrange them.

For the price, I guess although HTiB setups are not all that great. Now if you want something strictly for PS3 use with great quality, may I recommend a good surround sound headphone system.

You could get something like the Astro A40 Audio System or really do it right and just buy the Astro Mixamp with a great pair of Audiophile headphones.

I recommend a setup like this.

With this

That is a great audiophile setup used in things like MLG tournaments and a great price. Those headphones easily rival something from Sennheiser which costs a lot more money. And you are getting 7.1 Dolby Surround.

Does that system allow the speakers to be placed easier because they are wireless?

The model I have has S-AIR (wireless), but unfortunately requires a transmitter and another receiver ($100-$150), or hub that the speakers are connected to. It is mainly for the rear (surround) speakers. The front, center and subwoofer are still wired to the main receiver. It's a lot of work/money so I never messed with it. A surround sound is great, I like it, but it is a pain dealing with all the wires; all 50+ feet of it. If your looking for all wireless, it's not going to be cheap. Honestly, I'm not even sure is there IS a fully wireless surround sound.
