Harley Quinn....

17 replies 129 views Edited May 16, 2013

There's something I've been noticing about the Batman games and other games he has appeared in so far. It seems to me that Harley Quinn is soon going to get tired of The Joker's abuse and rebel against him. Is there something I'm missing here? I thought she would always be right by his side.

P.S. I have never read the Batman comics. So if there are any parts to the comics that may shed some light on this, please feel free to tell.

Ever hear that people in an abuse relationship seldom, if ever, leave? It's the same idea.

I don't know about that man because: SPOILER ALERT: (If anyone has not played Injustice should not read this...As a matter of fact, step away from the computer, destroy it, and think that this is all a bad dream) In Injustice: Gods Amog Us, if you play as her in the Arcade part of the game, her ending is that she actually kills him due to her being tired of the abuse.

Harley Quinn wasn't a character in the DC Universe until she was created for Batman the Animated Series. And yes, it does have the dynamic of an abusive relationship. Also, it's not uncommon for women to fall for the like of the criminal element, because they see in them something "dangerous", and there's an inherent thrill in being with them.

Sooo basically, she's just a person in the comics to give more of a villanous relationship? Seems legit....

CaptinAlbator is correct (as always)

Her rebelling against Joker is nothing new. I remember an episode of "Batman: The Animated Series" where she rebelled against The Joker, after he kicks her out, and she has a "Thelma & Louis" day/night out with Poison Ivy.

Of course, Mr. J and Harley's dysfunctional love prevails in the end.. as always.
