ive been looking around and just waiting a few more days. mor the money if you want wireless the sony pulse elite are supposed to be really good. im waiting for more reviews of the turtle beach px4 to make a purchase. both are priced at $150

Neither of the official Sony Headsets, the ones that work with the PS3, will work with the PS4 at this time. Hopefully there will be an update to make it happen but as of right now, they don't work. I have the pulse and tried it to make sure and the system would not recognize it.

You don't want those. Tritton is Madcatz. Made very poor and can't support a frequency response lower than 25Hz.

Like I said. Get those Studio Reference headphones I recommended. The headphones are only $40 to $50 and sound like a $400 pair of AKG's. If the mixamp is too pricy for you at $130, I have seen them on EBay used for around $80.

Trust me. I know what I'm talking about. If your gonna do this, do it right.

You could also get an adaptor like the Xjacker Soniq Rush 2.0 for less than $30. While its not nearly as good as the Astro Mixamp, paired with those headphones, it will still sound better than any gsming headset on the market.

I really would rather spend $60 - 70 on a headset and get decent quality than spend tons on a headset.

If I didn't want to spend more than $100, then what could I do?

Those trittons?

Problem is, the headphones you are looking at for $60 to $70 are worth more like $20 or $30. Do it my way and you will spend about the same.

Xjacker $27 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007RJ7IP2

Samson SR850's $50
http://www.amazon.com/SR850-Professional-Studio-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

Zalman Mic $9.97

Still recommend you save a bit more and buy the same headphones with the Astro Mixamp but this will get you by without buying gimmicky "Gaming" headphones.

The Astro A40's are probably the only solid gaming headphones on the market. With they being said though, they are certainly pricey for what they actually have to offer. You are better off just buying the Astro Mixamp and the mic and headphones I linked above.

$60 cheaper than buying the A40 audio system and sound much better by offering just enough bass without drowning out the mids and highs.
