Has anyone used one of these?

I think I will save around 200 dollars and then I will decide for a headset in that range more or less.  What do you suggest?

I got these from Amazon, not a bad price. I didn'get them for the PS4, but had the headset for use with my PC and it never recognized the device. I plugged the headset into one of the USB slots on the console and wham! It recognized it right away and I was able to do chat and send voice messages to friends.

@DjGates06.

You would buy a clip on mic such as the Zalman ZM-Mic1 for $10 or a Modmic if you can find one.

You would need something like the Astro Mixamp which will have chat support with the update. The mic would plug into the mixamp along with the headphones with the included Y splitter in the same manner you would hook up headphones and a mic on the PC.

I did mention the Xjacker as well which I have never used personally but have seen mixed reviews on. I would assume the problem people are having with the regular XJacker is the fact that they would also need to run something like an FiiO headphone amp. The XJacker Soniq Rush does have a built in amp but have never used it to comment on.

I would personally go with the Astro Mixamp which might seem a little pricy but is well worth the investment. A huge plus besides superior audio is that you aren't tethered to the same headphones if yours break or you just feel like you want something different. With most gaming headphones, you have to buy a whole new audio system. With the Mixamp, you are just replacing headphones. The mixamp is rated at 32ohms but according to Astro support, they will drive headphones up to 200ohms before you hear a degrade in sound.

As somebody else mentioned, you might not even need the mixamp and some audiophiles say you don't need it since most good headphones have a wide open soundstage for pinpoint accuracy. It is an all in one solution however and I love mine. I also don't know for sure what other options work on the PS4. Other perks of the mixamp include Music playback from your phone or media player for in game audio, control of game and chat audio as well as a live streaming feature if you record gaming videos with commentary through the PC.

What would be great would be if my wireless SONY PLAYSTATION mic that I just bought 6 months ago would work. Who dropped the ball on that.

use a steelseries Siberia  v2 with an astro pc y-adapter.  Plug into the controller works great.  This headset is much more comfortable than the turtle beach px21.
