How is the game disc going to be insert into PS4?

23 replies 83250 views Edited Jun 15, 2013

I was wondering how the game disc is going to be inserted into the PS4. Is there going to be a disc tray that comes out or do you have to feed the disc into the PS4? Or do you "flip" open the PS4 (similar to the current PS3) to insert the disc? Also, which side of the PS4 will contain the disc drive?

Did you even take a minute to look at the design?
Go look at it. The drive is clearly on the front left, and its mini, so obviously its the same drive the PS3 fat and slim had.

The same way as the original PS3. It would be a lot easier to look at the picture.

From all the pictures I've seen of the PlayStation 4, it's actually a little indistinctive as to where the disc drive is located. From the E3 presentation, Andrew House merely swiveled the system in his hand for a moment without going into any detail. For anyone who's not been to E3 and perhaps seen the platform up close I can imagine that it would be hard to get a good look at the hardware.

Pretty easy to see where the disc drive is located and that it loads the same way as the PS3

Take a good look under the PS4 logo(there are larger images if you do an image search on google)

ps4

It's slot loaded and thank god. I was worried it would be tray based like the PS3 Super Slim.

Because this pic shows a shadow of the top part on the bottom

Seconded. I like slot loading consoles better. They seem to be more sturdy.
