What Dice Has to say about Battlefield 4:

In addition to its hallmark multiplayer, Battlefield 4 features an intense, dramatic character-driven campaign that starts with the evacuation of American VIPs from Shanghai and follows your squad's struggle to find its way home.

There is no comparison. Immerse yourself in the glorious chaos of all-out war on PlayStation 4, found only in Battlefield.

Only in Battlefield will you experience the intensity of Levolution, dynamically changing the environment by cutting the power to a building and shrouding your enemies in darkness or reducing a skyscraper to rubble. Only in Battlefield will you lead a naval assault from the back of a gun boat. Battlefield grants you the freedom to do more and be more while playing to your strengths and carving your own path to victory.

SINGLE PLAYER STORY:

Battlefield 4's single-player campaign takes place in 2020, six years after its predecessor. The player controls Sgt. Daniel Recker, a member of a US special operations squad callsigned "Tombstone". His teammates include squad leader SSgt. Dunn, second-in-command SSgt. Kimble "Irish" Graves, and Marine Combat Lifesaver Clayton "Pac" Pakowski. Later in the Campaign, a CIA field operative named Laszlo W. Kovic joins Tombstone.  The player will also meet Huang "Hanna" Shuyi, a female American soldier of Chinese descent.

Spoiler
The Battlefield 4 gameplay reveal trailer features footage from the prologue mission "Fishing in Baku", where Tombstone Squad, carrying intelligence from a defecting Russian general, escapes from Baku with Russian special forces in hot pursuit. Afterwards, Tombstone squad is sent on a covert mission to Shanghai, to rescue a group of VIP´s, Kovic among them.   Another revealed mission, "Angry Sea", shows Recker, Irish, Pac, and Kovic trying to escape from a sinking aircraft carrier en route to Singapore with more intel, while fighting off Chinese forces.  The campaign's main plot involves American implication in the assassination of China's future leader and "voice of peace", Jin Jié, and the threat of a third world war between the United States, China, and Russia.

Shouldn't this be under the Battlefield board? And don't we have an Official thread about Battlefield 4 already?

We're taking some time to experiment in the current set up of setting up information threads in PS General so the wider community can get info on the game.

But yeah, it might work best if we take the Official thread that is in the Battlefield board and create a link to that thread for the time being in PS General to point people there.

I appreciate the post. Lots of good information. I thought I had sworn off first person multi player forever but I have to admit I'm thinking about this game a lot.

Does anyone know what button is assigned the 'shoot' button on the PS4 version? I hope it's R2 since that button resembles a trigger. In PS3 games, that button is usually assigned to R1. I hope that is changed from now and out. Does anyone know?

EDIT: Nevermind...Answer found via Google search. Turns out the shooting button is indeed R2!

Edit: I see you found what you were looking for (likely the same image), but I'll leave it here for those interested.

You're missing the story trailer. Smiley Happy Well, a video of the story trailer. But you have a link already. Good thread.

Ater playing around with BF2, I realize now that basically everything about BF4 was already in BF2... and they are brining it back because everyone liked it better than BF3.

I'm not trying to be rude, but most Battlefield fans just go to the battlelog forums. With more info being there, and Moderation being less strict, some of us choose the Battlefield news source over there.

Why do I get the feeling months down the road we're just going to have one major forum board? All topics bundled together.
