I have a question, who is ok with losing the ability to play the hardcopy versions of all their ps3 games? I can't get over that my 100 + game library will be obsolete by the end of the year.

You won't lose that ability - keep your PS3 - problem solved!

The point being that the PS4 could likely do a better job at playing these games.

Imagine KZ2 with twice the frame rate, or completely removing the pop in textures of pretty much any PS3 game.

Also I bet the PS4 will support 4K resolutions and could upscale the 720p games to 2160P so our games do not look like crap.

The 60GB PS3 was more compatible with PS2 games then the PS2 slim was.  They could do this again with PS4.

I just think they are shooting themselves again by turning away long time loyal customers.

Finally, the structure of my question is that you would have to disprove every possible outcome to be correct and I would just have to have one that would likely be beneficial. That's statistically in my favor by quite a bit.

I just read somewhere I may not be able to use my SONY Elite wireless headsets with the PS4.  This is dissappointing. I just got them for xmas.  My wife spent a lot of money on those.  It's not like it's an outside company with an outdated product.  Plus I don't know how much I like the idea of having a headset plugged into my controller.

Don't know if this was mentioned, but is the "built in HD" upgradable?

They should make ps3 games work on ps4 because then everyone will have to rebuy all Thier expensive games for ps4 plus the ps4 console and the new dualshock 4 controls that's too much money

You're just jumping the gun don't assume anything.
They didn't say PS4 will only play PS4 games.

They actually did say that the PS4 will not play PS3 games natively, but eventually you will be able to stream them via the Gaikai service.

If you are afraid you'll 'lose' your PS3 games when you upgrade to the PS4, keep your PS3.  Problem solved.

Backward compatibility would be achieved by including the PS3's Cell and RSX chips on the MoBo.  That being the case, the PS4 will play the games identically to the way the PS3 handles them.

Upscale 720p to 2160p, and your games will look like crap.  You can't create pixels that don't exist in the original programming.  That would be like buying a DVD (because its cheaper) and expecting you'll get Blu-ray quality out of it because you use an 'Upscaling' DVD player with an HDMI output.

The 60GB PS3 was more compatible with PS2 games then the PS2 slim was.  They could do this again with PS4.

The 60GB PS3 was compatible with PS2 games because it basically had a PS2 built in (and even then it only had a compatibility rate of around 90-95%).  They removed one of the chips from later PS3s and used software emulation for the other and compatibility dropped to around 50%).  Slims are not compatible with PS2 games because they do not have any of the PS2 hardware in them.  The PS2 games that are available on the PSN have been recoded to work on the PS3.

I just think they are shooting themselves again by turning away long time loyal customers.

Who's turning anyone away?  Will your PS3 self-destruct when the PS4 is released?  I seriously don't think so.  As soon as we get a look at the form factor of the actual PS4 hardware, I will be designing myself a custom shelf that will hold both consoles.  My PS3s aren't going anywhere any time soon.

It might not be worth the watch now that all the information from the meeting is online. It was enjoyable when I watched it live - definitely a few boring moments, but overall a very good, focused show.
