In theory this sounds good. But im sitting here in the fourm looking at all the complaints about a new update and not playing my games because update 3.56 will not allow me to play my games. I miss the days of atari 2600, you put the game in and it played. Out of the four updates I HAD to install (because there is not an option not to install) 2 have kept my system down for over a week untill the new update came out.

Thanks Sony for allowing me to spend all this money then trashing my system with your patches all because your new game you rushed to release has hacking problems. Maybe you should have put Black ops on TESTER 2.0

This is awesome. Playstation Plus definitely got better. I'm proud to be a Playstation Plus member. I got it when it came out.

Very awesome news, the only setback is some devs might block their games from being online save eligible. Why? I hope not because that's one of the reasons I really wanted this service is to store my copy-protected games online.

I will be happy about this, but I'm sure Sony will mess this up just like most other great features we wanted.

Please note two things:

1. PS+ Feature.

2. Devs get to choose.

If both of these are true, then.

1. My son and wife will not be able to use this since they are sub accounts.

2. Only unlocked previous game saves will work. All previous locked game saves will be blocked since the Dev didn't get to choose yay or nay.

3. The majority of the devs that lock games now will continue to opt out on this too. Devs can lock a save to an account already. Why also lock it to a PS3? Because they love the control.

So mark my word, this will be just like other awesome features that fell flat:

1. PSP Remote Gaming on a very select number of games.

2. PS3 Custom Music on a very select number of games.

3. Facebook not working for Subaccounts

4. PS+ not working for Subaccounts

5. Auto update only works on one of my two PS3s.

6. PS3 built in Video capture on a very select number of games.

7. If you let your PS+ subscription lapes and restart it, it is now confirmed that you will lose some of the content you had!

I could find more, but I think my point is made.

Man I hope I'm wrong on this one.

Locking the gamesave to the PS3 prevents a user from copying it a PC and editing it and then copying it back to the PS3.

So locking it to a console has a valid reason.  If the cloud storage allows the gamesave to be copied to a PS3 only, and still keep it as copy-protected so it cannot be exported, a dev has no real reason to keep it from being stored on the cloud.

That's still no excuse, just a cheap way for a dev to not use their own encryption.

They can not Lock the game save to a PS3 and encrypt the game save data themself to prevent modification. I do this on the PC with software I dev all the time.

FYI, you can't just open up a unlocked PS3 Game Save and push it back on the PS3.. There's a bit of hash checking going on to test for modifications.. Not sure if anyone figured how to re-calc them hashes.
