Sounds to me like your memory card got corrupted. This happens alot when the PS2 either got shut down, or unplugged..ect. while the memory card is either loading, saving, or reading. You can format the card and delete anything that is left on it, and it will bring the memory back up to 8mb.

Then when I open the memory card in the browser all my game data is lost, but my memory card is reading that i have 1 mb left on a 8mb memory card. Does anybody know what i can do to get my game data?

Most of the time only certian files will get corrupt. That could be due to the user when saving or what not, the game itself, or the memory card. It dosn't mean the whole memory card will get corrupted.

There are programs you can get to do it, I would just buy a new card. It costs less, and you are gonna lose the data anyways.
