Played Madden 07 earlier in the day and I saved, then when i come back that night and load Madden my  it gives me a memory card load error.  Then when I open the memory card in the browser all my game data is lost, but my memory card is reading that i have 1 mb left on a 8mb memory card.  Does anybody know what i can do to get my game data?

Sounds to me like your memory card got corrupted. This happens alot when the PS2 either got shut down, or unplugged..ect. while the memory card is either loading, saving, or reading. You can format the card and delete anything that is left on it, and it will bring the memory back up to 8mb.

yeah its a sony 8mb memory card...there was already some corrupted data on the memory card before that couldn't be erased.  My question is if the data was corrupted why would it corrupt the whole memory card and not they file that was saving

Most of the time only certian files will get corrupt. That could be due to the user when saving or what not, the game itself, or the memory card. It dosn't mean the whole memory card will get corrupted.

Now since something has happend, your memory card is corrupted.

How does one reformat the card?  I'm having the same problem after play madden 07.  My card doesn't show any files on it, yet it says that I only have a small amoutn of space available....and even so, I can't save anything on it period (giving me a message saying error when trying to save anything on it). 

Is it possible to salvage my card by reformatting and if so, how does one reformat a card??  I hope I don't have to buy another card

There are programs you can get to do it, I would just buy a new card.  It costs less, and you are gonna lose the data anyways.

Buying a new card is not cost effective. If he buys software to reformat, then even if it happens again in the future he can fix it, while otherwise he'll just end up buying yet ANOTHER new memory card. A new memory card is only cheaper if you only have to buy it once.

There is no official software for sale anymore that can manually reformat a memory card. You have to buy a Code Breaker or Action Replay MAX to be able to do it. Doing so will also let you copy save files to your computer to keep backups, so you won't have to buy a new memory card when you run out of space, and if your data gets corrupted, you'll still have the files on your computer from the last time you backed up your saves. For the amount of space you get, and the ability to keep backups, that's the most cost-effective solution, though Sony doesn't support it because those products are unofficial. If they're not going to provide you an official way to fix a memory card with as simple thing as a manual reformat, they shouldn't force you to buy a new card when it's an excessive way to fix hardware that still works.

Thing is, I am using the same Nyko memory card I bought at launch with my PS2 and no problems.  It is very rare that a card dies out.

maybe because you are pressin the wrong button to save cuz some times when i play a game called psi ops it is triangle to save insted of x. so everytime iplayed it iwas like wat happend it didnt save.
