Remove your PlayStation Network Account from your PS3 and sign back in. See if it will sync then.

I know that's probably going to work, but i REALLY don't wanna delete my account because then i will lose all of my save data and there's a few games that i REALLY do not want to start over on...so i wanted to rebuild the database because i will not lose my save data doing it that way.

you can make a backup of all your game and save data if you want, the option is in the XMB.

I've gotta have a big enough usb thumb drive to be able to do that haha...my account isn't a PS Plus account, so i don't have access to the PS3's online storage...i'm pretty much stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

Buy a month of PS PLUS load all saves to the cloud and fix your machine. Dont open it up unless you are savy at fixing things and have lots of time.

Sorry to hear about the frustrations.

Some of your games saves have got to be locked, PS PLUS is the only way.OR buy a new hardrive and do a backup on an external FAT drive then do a fresh load to the new hardrive in the PS3. Right Guys?

Re: PS3 Recovery Menu help

Can you eject disc with button on ps3?

If your ok with opening the ps3 it sounds like they forgot to install ribbon for power button.

Or it came off while they put it back together.

Re: PS3 Recovery Menu help

Sounds like the power ribbon is/got disconnected.

If you can open it up then you can reconnect or you will need to bring it in.
