PS3 was never a failure

- 80+ million units sold

- Free internet

- PS3 still being supported and still has value, people got rid of their Wii's or they are collecting dust.

- TLOU, Uncharted, a bunch of exclusives, etc.

- Kevin Butler

- PS PLUS grew into a strong program

- And much more I am too lazy to list

Cons?

- Umm price in beginning

- Hard to program the first few years

- Internet hacker attack thing

Yeah a colossal failure. Atari Jaguar faired waaaaay better

/ sarcasm

When you compare it to the PS1 & PS2 then it certainly wasn't the success Sony was hoping for.

You can't always be on top, life has ups and downs.

I see a thread like this on the horizon for the PS4 since almost everyone is already calling it a failure after its been out for 3-4 months.

Everything that is successful is a failure, and everything that is a failure is successful

PS3 was a significant part in influencing the HD media format war win. That is probably the biggest gain sony could've gotten in the past decade.

Please put your trophy profile as private, otherwise I might have believed you own a PS4 (thanks for the fake pic though)."

In units sold yes maybe, but I think PS3s success lies on new revenue streams it created for Sony like PSN and console exclusives. And to think PS3 can get even closer to PS1 units lifetime total before it finally dies but I doubt it will catch up to it.

I remember when I put a disc in and it went straight to the game.

PS3 was a HUGE change from PS2, PS4 wasn't that much of a change from PS3 honestly.
