I spent a good hour yesterday messing with my router and the PS3. I finally got the PS3 to download @ 9mbps on a speed test. I was like great maybe now I can stream movies from the computer. Wrong! They were so choppy that it wasn't even funny. As soon as I hooked up the cat5 cable presto everything worked again. The reason why I wanted to change to wifi is because I have a 25ft cat5 cable running to the ps3. Any of you guys have any luck streaming videos to the PS3 using wifi?

I use the wifi to stream movies to my PS3 and don't have any problems like you do.  I'm guessing that it could be your setup somewhere.  Try this media server and see if it works better than using windows media player, if that happens to be what you are using.  WMP works fine for me but I like this new server much better.

PS3 media server is the way to go.

I am having the same problem. First I used windows and then I downloaded a new one but it's too slow to watch anything.

Wifi will always be slower than direct connect. So maybe your iternet connection is just too slow via wifi.  I know mine is.   Kinda sucks actually.
