PS3 wireless stereo headset Wifi connection problems

15 replies 5466 views Edited Sep 12, 2011

OK so I got the headset and it works great but it seems to be causing interference with my wifi network, it logs me out at random times and I need to either unplug/replug my router or turn off the headset itself, my question other then sawitching to ethernet connection is there a workaround for this problem?

Set the channel for your wireless router to AUTO.

This.  Change the wireless channel on your router.  Personally I would rather experiment and find a channel that works and stick with it, but either way will work.

I have a D-Link 615 router and it was already set to auto channel scan mode

Then manually select a channel and see if you still have a problem. If you do, try another.

I had the exact same problem and I got a usb extension cable and plugged it into the ps3 and then plugged the dongle into the extension cable and the problem went away-it is not the best looking with the cord hanging down off the front of the ps3 but it does work-Sony should do better testing before releasing the product.

There is no way for Sony to anticipate every single environment possible. If your wireless router is being interfered with by the headset simply change the wireless channel on your router. It's as simple as that.

I haven't had not one problem with this headset and I have a high end 802.11n access point next to the console.
