That port is most likely an HDMI OUT port. To display your laptop on a bigger screen.

Probably not HDMI IN. so no.

In this day and age where they don't even sell SDTVs? Yes.

If you're going to spend $400 on a ps4, they expect that you would've spent $100-$1000 on an HDTV of some sort

Get an HDTV for Christmas instead of a PS4.

Minimum output on the PS4 is 720p.  There is no reason for the PS4 to have analog A/V outputs.

Some Alienware laptops have HDMI in. So if you have one of those, you should be good.

1. Playing HD games on a standard definition television? Um, OK... If you are that concerned then do some research on HDMI converters.

If you can afford a PS4/Xbox One then you can afford a HDTV.  I didn'y preorder a PS4 for simple fact my older tv didn't have HDMI ports.  I could have used the living room TV but I wanted my own skipped the preoder and got a new TV instead.  I ended up getting lucky and got a PS4 day one though.
