We already settled all this with sony. Sony was the one who told us to call the CC. They are the ones who explained that all the purchases were made withing seconds of eachother. This wasn't the problem, it is a recent problem. Well not too recent, because when I got banned I was 17, and now I am 19. When we got our money back from the CC fraud, sony knew all about it. I was 16 when that happened. I dont know if the ages help at all, but I can't give you specific dates.

I don' t think you settled it with Sony. THey had you call the CC to duspute the charges, which you did. A month or two later, after you sign the afidavit with the CC company they reversed the charges to Sony. Sony likey waited the length of time they lawfully had to to collect from you. When you didn't pay they banned the console to collect the money.

Right or wrong when the charges were reversed, Sony didn't get the money that the purchaser on the PSN promissed at purchase time. Wether it was you or not, it was your account, so they hold you accountable for purchases.  This is why the PSN employee told you that you owe them $500, that is the amount of the chargebacks. They stubornly will not delete content, they will ban and make you pay. as one poster said no refunds. You got a refund, yes, through your CC company on the chargeback.

I'm note sayign righ tor wrong, but this is the exact situation you find yourself in. They delivered the product, PSN purchases, but you didn't deliver the payment. AS soembody else posted. THe CC Company could write a letter to Sony and hopefully get them to remove the purchases and un-ban. But I don't know if Sony would do it.

@mlbpowerpro

When I pay $600 for something and then $9.99 a month. I get to chose what I want to do, and not do. If you don't like that, I honestly don't care. What are you like 15, your parents bought your stuff for you? You don't know the value of money so you think you are special?

@TwinDad

If that is the case, then why not just ban that account. I don't care about that account. I don't even care about  the ps3 really. I just use it for Netflix. I have no games for it, and no controllers, and my system has been reformatted like 6 times since the ban. It's not like I will benefit from it. I just want to watch the Netflix I pay for on the ps3 I paid for.

Do not know, it is just what they do. Perhaps they do it incase the PS3 itself was stolen and can't be used on PSN? Or in case you made another account to use on the PS3 and didn't care if they banned the account?

If all you do is play netflix, aside from contacting NetFlix which I don't think they can do anything about it. You might just have to purchase a different means to stream Netflix, aside from the other system. I've been looking into AppleTv or a Sony Blu-Ray player. They seem much more reliable in the long run for watching movies.

Something stinks in Denmark....

Sony would NOT hold an account responsible for fraudulent purchases unless they were all made on said account.

So, what has not been spoken is probably more important than what has, I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin!

There is nothing that Best Buy or Gamestop can do about it. Some sites have answers and ways to get around it, but I am not into doing illegal things. Now, if I can't get this resolved I may have to. I am going to take this up to Netflix first, then Sony, and if they can't fix it. I'm going to take it over to my buddy and see what he can do. If he can't unban it, then I guess I will have to just get rid of it. Maybe someone will want to buy it for just offline gaming and watching movies.

something is definitely not right here if you're not doing what you need to do. and thats to call sony, you or your mother, and talk to them about it. you said you've already called & they didn't really give you any info. i find that hard to believe. if anyone owes a company money, then that company does whatever it takes to collect that money. did you call up and rant & rave at them? or did you call them and calmly explain your situation?

if this is real & you didn't spend this money & your CC company has the record, then all you have to do is supply sony with the right paperwork (they'll tell you what they need) and get your console un-banned. its not hard, do what you need to do, seeing as you're an adult now, you'll have to deal with situations like this the rest of your life.

@ctfw529

I have tried. I call and calmly explain what happened, and they calmly say that I am banned, and that I owe money. I ask them how it is possible to owe them money, and they give me a few dates and times where something was purchased. I can't remember if I made that purchase or not. I don't think it has anything to do with the CC fraud on my account. When I asked them about it, he gave me recent purchases to that time. Not purchases from when the CC was used fraudulently. If anything was purchased after the whole CC thing, it was paid for by a Visa Gift Card. I can't call the CC company for a Gift Card.

then you take those dates & times and compare them with the statements from the "fraudulent charge time", then if those dates/times don't coincide, then you take those dates & times and get the CC statements from those times and compare them. and yes, you can get CC info from a gift card. if its a visa (or any other) gift card, then call visa and request the statements, they'll give them to you.

i know it sucks, but anytime any case of stolen identity happens to someone, its up to the person to get it sorted out. CC companies & corporations don't care, you have to sort it out for yourself. its all there for you to get sorted, you just have to do it or buy a new one, or buy a competitors product if you want to continue gaming.
