the warriors was a great game i beat it about 10 times 100%.  i think that the ps2 was the last console  that had "games" not simulations like all the new crap

Had a crappy job in a small town with not a lot of things to do, but my copy of Syphon Filter, the Omega Strain got me through a lot of boring times.  Must have had at least 1000 hours playing online with this game...good times.

Re: RIP PS2, what are you best memories?!

I have some good memories from back when we first got our PS2.

My son talked his grandparents into buying him a PS2 for xmas of 2001.  The first game he wanted was GTA III and I bought it for him even though he was only 9.  :smileyvery-happy:   His friends would also come over to play the game because their parents would not buy it for them.  :smileyvery-happy:

I picked up Silent Hill 2 for myself and was impressed with the quality of this survival horror title.  Went on to eventually get every subsequent game that was released in this series.  Same for the Fatal Frame series as well.

Spent countless hours on the Gran Turismo and Ratchet & Clank series.

The Spyro and Crash series was now only a shadow of the former glory it had on the PS1.  :smileysad:

I remember unlocking the code for the hot coffee mod in GTA: San Andreas.  :smileyvery-happy:

Star wars battlefront 2. Played hours upon hours upon hours of that game, & was happy to recently see people still playing it online :smileyvery-happy:

I played countless of hours MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, collected to get all dog tags, and attempted to understand the complex story of it. That was the best year in 2002.

Re: RIP PS2, what are you best memories?!

GTA 3 was my 1st game. When the system came out and was $300 I couldn't really afford it. But found one on e any for $184 used but had some disc reading errors. Was DEFF WORTH IT. Need for speed games (all NFS) All GTA's, Burnout games, Killzone was A MUST PLAY with all my friends and family but that game came out years later after the systems release. I even put a Mod chip in my PS2 so I could played Nes, Snes, Sega Gen, and other home brew like watching burn avi movies on a disc. Man the PS2 was a great system with tons of memories. Then got the PS3, changed everything again for me. Problem was the ps3 cost way to much to develop for and the library compared to the PS2 is weak haha but man what great systems. Up next......PlayStation 4 baby hahaha Bring It On :smileytongue:

Re: RIP PS2, what are you best memories?!

My memories I will miss are with my brother, when we use to spend hours playing GTA3 and GTAVC taking turns causing chaos and six star wanted levels doing insane driving stunts to get away that 4 just didn't posses. Conflict desert storm was a fun game to play.

My systems are never "dead" I find enjoyment in them even years down the road. I still play N64, I have a few cool games on dreamcast. and i have a ton of super Nintendo games. I download all kinds of rom's for my laptop so I can play my fav's on the road w/out having to disconnect the system and lug it around. i will miss my gaming teammate
