If I select the rebuild database (OS) option on the PS3's recovery menu, will i lose all my saved files and games?  Thank you.

No. The only thing you'll lose will be any albums you've created.

It should not take too long, but give it an hour or two. If it still hasn't budged from 0%, then shut down and boot into Safe Mode. Run the restore file system option. When that has finished, then run the rebuild database option.

You should also make backups of your save games just in case.

The best way to do a Restore database is using the Safe Mode option. That will ensure best results .

DO NOT interrupt a Rebuild Database, even if it's "stuck."

As long as any animation is playing and the hard disk light is blinking, it's still working on it. Leave it for 24-48 hours if you need to.
