Resident Evil fan with a wish here.

I want to see a Resident Evil game for the PS4 but please Capcom make it scary I dont F****** care about cool fighting things or a trillion of different guns.

I just want a RE game that is scary like it use to be and very gory very mature and very real not the kind of the last 2 ones.  RE4 was my favorite and its because it was a little scary and gory and it had a good way of making itself a brilliant game.  But RE 5 and 6 were cool but I did not replay them as RE4 or the RE2.  Please stop the Chris Redfield things about making it look like call of duty in third person view.

Do not think I do not like Resident Evil 5 and 6 because I really do but they were not nearly as brutal as RE4 and 2 for me.

I have been playing RE for many years and I buy every RE game that comes out except for Revelations because I cannot spend money on PS3 games anyomore because of PS4 and all the games etc etc.

Im just a fan of this franchise that wants to remember well what RE used to be.

I echo your sentiment a wish fervently, but, with Capcom hemorrhaging money exponentially, and, in the wake of the Mighty No. 9 deabacle, I seriously doubt we will see this come true.  I hope I am wrong.

It is sad to see how much capcom has manage to deviate away from the genre they basically fueled to fame. Amazing how they have moved away from everything that deals with zombies. To my knowledge, no other franchise has been this butchered before, butchered to the point that it shows they don't know what to do with the RE story anymore. Gameplay... capcom can seriously take some advance classes from the Doctors at NaughtyDog. The Last of Us perfectly delivers the image of what society would become in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event such as a massive, always spreading, zombie infestation. RE doesn't need a new game; RE needs a rebirth by fire.

RE 6 was AWESOME!! It had the perfect blend of horror and shooter in it. Leon's campaign went back to the roots for the most part. The best part was the whole game was co-op so we got to expirience it with a friend. This is coming from somebody who has bought every RE since PS1's Directors Cut..Smiley LOL

Capcom makes the games action oriented now because they get more money like that. They are in the business to make money not to please everyone.I know the survival horror was what made it special in the first place. But making the games survival horror is just not that profitable for then now.Example Resident Evil remake for the gamecube was an excellent survival horror game but it didn't generate enough money.Making a game more action oriented gives genrates then more money even if they get bad critics. After all money is what keeps the company running not what a reviewer says.

Also if you are such a fan of the survival horror genre then buy Resident Evil Revelations if you are truly a fan of survival horror that it i own the game and while is not exactly like the old games is the closes you will get for now

Yes. And it is true they make the games now to make a lot of more money even if they will get bad reviews. I know its a business but I really miss the fear of no bullet in RE and all of that. I remember RE Outbreak 1 and 2 they were difficutl as hell when you did not know what to do and no bullets jaja. I remember stoping the game and return to it a month later. I wish this can be change but we shall see. In my opinion all this more action less fear less survival horror is because nowdays people only want to play war focused games. And I like them but I love things like RE and the amazing game of TLOU it was such a great game ladies and gentlemen.

Resident Evil Revelations was pretty great and Capcom somewhat went back to its roots. Was pretty amazing feat when it was running on my 3DS (in 3D especially) but man when they brought out to PS3, the HD version looked loads better and controlled a bit better (actual real analogs). So if they could continue that route, I would buy it Smiley Wink!

I loved Resident Evil on the PS1.

Loved the remake on the Gamecube. Loved Zero, 2, 3 and CVX.

Then it started going downhill. I absolutely loathe Resident Evil 4. It's full on action, gone are the confined spaces, your in wide open space, the only scares in the entire game are the Regenerators towards the end. Unlike the previous RE games. RE4 demolishes Umbrella in a cutscene.. A 30ish second cutscene at the start of the game and has a plot of...

Escort Mission/Save Presidents Daughter. Sounds a bit like a bad movie to me and I was right, The gameplay was great, undeniable. but scares? None. Horror? None. Good script?.. One of the worst scripts in gaming history for me.

The first 30 seconds for me was just like "Well gee, thanks capcom. I've waited years to demolish Umbrella and you do it for me in a 30 second cutscene", they then progress in giving me the worst Resident Evil game script ever which despite the much better gameplay the story and lack of horror created the worst Resident Evil game period for me.

RE4's beta looked amazing. Scary and looked like something you wouldn't dare play without lights on. The RE4 we got was just gameplay over everything else including the secondary vital part to a great game. A well written plot.

Resident Evil 5 while not scary either. It fixes the plot so it becomes a good game.

Resident Evil 6 just isn't very interesting. I understand the plot. but someone went mad with the concept of fighting the same thing over and over again.

The next Resident Evil game I'd hope would follow in the footsteps and direction of Resident Evil: Revelations. The best Resident Evil game IMO since Remake. It has atmosphere, some little scares and a great environment. The ship, a dark mysterious confined area is much better than what Resident Evil 4,5 and 6 gave us.

Simply put, If Revelations had Zombies, Lickers, Hunters and the newish Ooze. Then Revelations would have probably been my GOTY for this year. Capcom, aside from the graphics nearly produced what Resident Evil is supposed to be.

Only good parts in 6 were in Leon's campaign at the start and Ada's campaign on chapter 2.

Lol, Capcom didn't even make the money they wanted too make off of their action oriented game, RE6. I think, if they didn't completely ditch the survival horror element they might of made more money. But Capcom has been making bad decision after bad decision. They ruined their Resident Evil franchise by making it more action oriented, Dmc and Lost Planet 3 were made by outside developers, they canceled games that fans actually wanted like any new gen megaman game. Dmc was not needed at all, the series did not need a 'reboot', the original universe had no conclusion and we might never see one. Lost planet 3, I don't think I ever heard anyone wanting a new LP game, waste of the companies money. And now since they have been lossing money, they are going to change the companies focus more on dlc, DLC?!?!?!  That's the last thing people want from them is more dlc. If this is what they really are going to do for a last effort to keep the company a float then this is truly the end of Capcom. I did not buy a single Capcom game this gen, besides the PS2 port of MvC2. If they want me to buy any of their products they have to stop trying to westernize their game's and trying to grab the COD crowd for those big bucks. I've never been so disappointed in a company as much as I have Capcom. Don't get me wrong, I loved them last gen a third of my PS2 collection was Capcom games. This gen they really dug themselves deep and I really don't want them to go away.
