Few people know this but, Sony originally joined Nintendo a few years ago with plans for Playstation. Nintendo gave the research team all of this money for "Project Playstation" of course they took the money. Then they stabbed Nintendo in the back. The research team took the money back to Sony and created the SONY Playstation. Ever wonder why Nintendo never released a 32 bit console? Ever wonder why N64 was rushed to an early release date? Ever wonder where Sony got ideas for a console? You just read why.
sony did not stab nintendo in the back, nintendo dropped the funding and sony took it from there by themselves. NINTENDO DUG ITS OWN GRAVE Shows how much U know. If I were you I would not talk unless I know the whole story.
It's the other way around. Nintendo broke the contract with Sony. The Playstation was originally the Super Nintendo CD to go head to head with Sega. Sega CD died and Nintendo broke the contract with Sony. Sony got stabbed in the back, and instead of giving up on the project, they inproved it and sold it as the Playstation. SCREW NINTENDO THE GREEDY BASTARDS
Back in about 1988 Sony & Nintendo signed a deal in which Sony would develop the sound chip for the SNES and later an SNES CD add-on. Sony stuck in a little bit of fine print into this contract that Nintendo didn't notice nor did they like. Sony would get the rights to the CD games. Nintendo being the big monster corperation they are (Nintendo isn't the benevolent game loving corperation so many people everyone makes them out to be) wouldn't stand for this and called that deal off. And so Sony was rather ticked off and continued development and turned it into the machine we know and love. There was another deal with Phillips but that never made much past the vaporware stage. There were a few prototypes, but nothing big.
