Stopping Obsession of Trophies

56 replies 525 views Edited Jul 1, 2013

Ok, if you look at my signature, I'm a bit of a trophy nut. Is that ok?

I don't really know. I remember how I used to play with my PS One and PS2 games for fun. And when I discovered trophies, I developed an obession of them. Is there any cure for this?

Stop playing games. Take up a new hobby. Like baking or crochet.

I would if I am able to. But apparently being on these forums and playing games is all I can do at home. Any way to play games and forget about trophies?

yeah go back to ps1 ps2 era with a time machine. Trophies/achievements are mandatory even steam does them. Gaming is all so competitive nowadays.

It just means you are a completionist by nature, theres not much you can do for it.

I remember playing games for hours, doing NOTHING, just for the sake of play.

After trophies, it seemed like if I wasnt working toward something I was wasting time....its kind of ironic.

Trophies for me are a sign of how much I enjoyed a game. If I enjoy it I'll platinum it, If I don't enjoy it, I wont waste my time.

Yes I did really enjoy Terminator Salvation....

Now you have the option to turn off trophy notifications. You will still unlock them, but the experience is back to the way it should have stayed to begin with.

15 isn't what i'd call a trophy **bleep** by any stretch even i'm at 12 and i'm exceptionally casual.  When you see people that are 22 and higher...THAT'S obsession.

If you don't look at the trophy list, and have trophy notifications disabled, you won't know how to get trohpies, or when you get them, so you can just play the **bleep** game.
