Tiny hole in PS3 disc

5 replies 280 views Edited Mar 13, 2012

Hello,

This is my first post here, so I will keep it simple.

Well, I wanted to play some Burnout Paradise when I noticed a really tiny hole(well, not exactly a hole, because it does not reach the other side) on the disc(which I have for some years). In fact, it was on the ring, which says ''PLAYSTATION 3'' (picture included).

Also, I haven't noticed any lag during gameplay and the game plays flawlessly.

Should I be worried?

Finally, I have one more question :

My PS3 system does a really low voiced(but noticeable) clicking sound while it has a disc in it. Is that normal?

Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Greece.

Thanks

That hole is not on the data portion of the disk so you are good.

Also, I've heard the slims have noisy drives that make sounds like you describe, so I think you are fine there too.

Thanks for your reply!

Well, isn't that ''hole'' going to create any problems in the PS3 drive?

Also, I forgot to mention that I don't have a slim PS3, I have a fat one.

Thanks

yea that disk is fine, just probably a little manufacturing defect but like above poster said its not on the data portion of the disk..far as the drive i have heard the same about some of the slimdrives but if its to bad there may be a issue but i wouldn't worry about it to much if its not bothering you.

as already stated, you're fine.

its a little bubble that ended up not going away during the hard coat application after the discs are stamped. I have 2 games with one little bubble/hole in the coating on the same area. Nothing to worry about.

Theres a video of blu-ray discs being manufactured and you can BARELY see the tiny bubbles the machine makes when it applies the coating, most if not all of it goes away once the disc is spun to evenly spread the coating across the disc.

Logic, who would've thought eh? Oh wait.... No one thinks anymore.
