If you boot into the recovery menu you can rebuild the databases, but there is no way to defragment the drive if that's what you mean.

Be aware that deleting the Game Data will also necessitate you to redownload all patches. In some games, the patch updates can become lengthy and there will be several as most patches dont supercede the other.

If there have been 10 patches released for a game you havent played in a while... you're going to have to download all 10 patches.

Definitely just upgrade your hard drive vs deleting the game data, cause what everyone on this thread is failing to mention is that if you delete the installed data for a game not only will you have to reinstall it next time you play it you will also have to re-download all the patches for the game cause they are stored in the game data files also. Also I'm not 100% sure about this but I'm pretty sure you will also delete any DLC you have gotten for that game by doing that to. I believe DLC is stored in the game data files & will need to be downloaded again just like the patches. Considering the fact you can get up to 1TB HD for the PS3 now all that deleting, re-downloading, & re-installing is just crazy.

I just bought a game on PS Store. The game needs 19GB and I have over 30GB free space. When I download it still says that I dont have enough hard drive space! What is this!? Does anyone have the same problem????

You need twice the space listed, for the download and for installing it.  Once installed it will only take up 19 GB.
