Turn based rpg's

Hey guys i need some help. i have never played a turn based rpg before but ive been really interested in trying one out. can anyone recommened a easy tb rpg to start out with.  i am playing on the ps2.

final fantasy X is a must play!!!!  great story.  its pretty linear, so its easy to follow.   and its turn based.  my favorite game!

It's hard to measure which turn-based games are set to "Easy," as most of them actually have challenges and are not dumbed down by any stretch of imagination. However, pointing out some turn-based RPGs that may be easier to jump into may be the key here.

 

If you're playing on a PlayStation 2 then you may want to try the likes of Magic Pengel: The Quest for Color and Okage: Shadow King. Both games are fit with colorful casts of characters and aren't too tough on excluding players with confusion, from what I remember.

Of the few that I recall playing, Grandia II, Suikoden V, Wild Arms 3, Wild Arms: ACF, Dragon Quest VIII, and FF XII (sort of a hybrid with gambit system) were turned based.    I'm not sure how one would go about gauging their difficulty though.
