Unless you are having issues with your internet connection on your PS3 I would reconmend leaving your DNS settings as is. Only if you are having login issues or see "server not found" errors would you want to try this.

If you have a router, chances are it's acting as the DNS server and is going to be considerably faster than using OpenDNS DNS servers. In my experiance these things are usually more congested and have a higher latency times than the DNS server provided by your ISP.

try typing in either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 whichever takes you to your router login is the correct one.

I just googled it:

Launch a web browser from any computer already connected to the network. The connection will preferably be via Ethernet cable attached to the gateway.

Type "192.168.1.254" in the address bar and press Enter. If asked for a password, use the wireless network key found on the sticker on your U-Verse router.

This should be your routers ip.

I put in everything correctly and it slowed down from 10.0Mbps to 2.1 Mbps. but the download speed up from about 1 MB every 55 seconds to about 1 MB every thirty seconds. Would you know why?

You do know the difference between a bit and a byte right? Sorry not trying to sound arrogant, but your flipping back and forth as if you believe them to be the same.
