Do you really mean to say that PS3 games, using new Blu-ray technology, capable of holding around 50GB of information, is not as large as PS2 games, which use regular DVDs?
Or are you just unimaginably stupid?

You will need a bc ps3, an external hdd and an original copy of swapmagic 3.6 or higher. The rest you can find online. I think it's legal as long as you own the games

In theory, it can be done, and has already been done with PSone and PS2 classics in the PSN Store. All the comments about backups are true but Sony would have a problem with doing what you would like to do. The public is not privy to this software and appropriate files. The first step is easy, place a PS2 DVD-ROM in a PC with a DVD-ROM drive. This should be able to read all of the files on the disc and you may have to check for hidden files too. The difficult part is knowing what to do with those files. They would need to be packed with an install file (may need to be digitally signed and contain your PSNid) that the PS3 can understand These files need to be arranged properly. I believe it would be a violation of copyright and/or terms of agreement. Like I stated above, the public is not privy to this software and appropriate files. In the future, posts like this should not be made on the playstation community. Save this type of discussion for audio chat sessions on the PS3.
P.S. - I feel the way many people do. You bought a PS2 game for $30. You want the PS2 game on your PS3 but you have to buy it again and if you trade in the PS2 version, you get 50 cents for it. ![]()

If it was possible, how many ps3 users would you think would go rent/borrow ps2 games from friends/stores and copy them to their ps3 hdd? I say, probably everyone. xD

What possessed you to post in a 3 year old thread that is no longer relevant?

u can, usualy people make disc images of movies to copy them and the idea should work for games but u still gotta have the right program for it. i got a program now that can right blu-ray, wmv, flv, "to sony", to 3gp, avi, mkv, apple, android, and ntfc. the thing is, if its where you can get on a computer you can probly do it.
