need help formating to fat32

7 replies 135 views Edited Aug 18, 2013

My 320GB hdd is full and i do not want to delete games i already download, so i brought a 1tb hdd. Im trying to back up my data on my ps3, but I need to format my 500GB external to fat32. It only let my format to NTFS or exFAT. I did some research and found a way to format it using command prompt. It took about 3 hours to format it, but when it gets close to 100%, it says volume is too big for FAT32, so how the * do i format my 500GB external HDD to FAT32? Why stupid sony dont make it read NTFS, they dont like mircosoft's stuff or what.

They didn't make it read NFTS because they didn't want you copying data to a PC, and then uploading it on to torrent sites.

Use a PC and a program called Swissknife, which you can find for free on Download.com

SwissKnife! That's what I was going to suggest but couldn't remember  the name of. Definitely get that. I did the same thing a few years ago (1TB HDD to FAT32 format) and SwissKnife was the only thing that worked at the time.
