Oldest female gamer in Home

73 replies 640 views Edited Jan 30, 2011

I just finished reading the front page story about the Guinness World Book of Records Gamers' Edition.  Absolutely incredible.  Had no idea it even existed.  Now I want to write to them and claim the title of world's oldest female gamer still actively playing video games on her PS3 and hanging out in Home for laughs.  But first hurdle:  I need proof I am the oldest gamer in Home.  SO!  If any female here is older than me (72) speak up now - and admit your age (lol).

Wow good for you!  I know my parents couldn't handle gaming.  They raised me saying video games rot the brain.  How wrong they were.  I've got my Bachelor's and am working on my Master's but still enjoy playing games.  I hope when I am your age I am still tech savvy enough to be a gamer and that my kids will still play them with me.

Is that something that can really be claim though? If you think about it they could give a 80 year old a controller and have her play COD for about 5 min. and call her the oldest gamer. I just don't see how this could be claimed. But best of luck to you!

She wouldn't last 5 minutes in COD. I didn't last 5 minutes in COD.

Keara, if you're thinking you might be the oldest female gamer, it could be just your age.

Oldest female gamer hanging out in Home! Just being able to kick butt in Call of Duty is not sufficient.  You show me that 80 year old woman who could hang out in Home without telling some pimply-faced little teen perv that if he doesn't get up off his knees, she is going to drop kick him into sterility.

You may want to refine your title if you seriously want to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. There's a BIG difference between being the oldest female gamer in general versus the oldest "hanging out on PS Home." IMO, anyone can hang out on Home. "Gamer" is a broad term that can refer to not only consoles but handhelds, PCs, arcades, etc.

If you've ever seen the movie Grandma's Boy, Doris Roberts was kicking video game butt, and she was 76 at the time it was made. Wonder if what was shown on the screen was really her playing?
