"perhaps the standard R2 for accelerate L2 for reverse"
Heh heh. Standard? I remember when it was X for accelerate, Square for break as standard. Took me ages to get used to the L2/R2 buttons for driving in gams, also made me wonder what the hell Sony were thinking when they made the R2/L2 buttons the shape they are...
That is still on our todo list. We hope to update them this Summer. Sorry that it is taking so long...
New Features and ImprovementsImprovements to Feature and Client Development
Significant changes have been made to the client to allow the development and release of future features without requiring a client update.
This means that future client patches will be more focuses on bug fixing and stability while New Features will be delivered on an individual and more regular basis outside of a client update.
Developing features in this way means we can make changes and implement bug fixes much faster, potentially on a weekly basis rather than having to wait until the next client release.
As this is a big change to the client, we aren't including a headline feature with this update to ensure it is as smooth, clean and focused as possible.
New features based on the 1.80 technology will be released throughout the coming months. Here is an idea of some that are currently in development:
- More Item Types – Including portable items with gameplay features and new types of Locomotion objects.
- Player Inspect – Allowing players to inspect other players, see what items they are wearing and where they got them.
- Improved Moderation – Providing enhanced tools to help Home moderators and admins provide a better service.
- Improved Commerce Points – New systems to make the commerce process smoother and easier.
- Events – Supporting broader and more engaging social & gaming events within Home.
- More use of server-side Save Data – Extending the range of save data now that it is kept on Home's servers.
With 1.80 it made it easier to fix bugs.
Really excited about the control changes. I haven't picked it up yet, but I've had a personal space that's been set up for this for months now. Actually I set it up originally for a peeps race, then it was good for LMO's but I think this would be perfect for the DIY racer.
I experimented with the game and like otheres, I found the cars hard to control. And being hard to control made it difficult to stay on the track - especially when going on ramps.
I think a suggestion might be is to create a space like nDreams Blueprint Home. Have multiple styles of track that we can place on our own. The tracks can be wide enough for two cars and have walls to keep us from sliding off track or taking illegal shortcuts and cheating.
Just a thought. Thanks for reading.
What we will try to address in the update is the following:
- slot usage
- spectator mode
Can we get a speed boost or maybe just make them faster in general? The large ramps are kinda useless at the speed we have
A speed boost is on our todo list as well!
Awesome. Thank you.
I did buy a single car when this came out and yet played with it for less than half an hour. I quickly realized that my friends had to presumably own a car to join me - which I can understand from a sales perspective - but worse for me was that spectators couldn't even see the car when I was using it. It limited the use of the car to a mini-game only not something you could freely tool around with and show to friends.
Agree with others that the controls are difficult and made the experience so frustrating that I haven't been back to it.
Great comments on rewards especially clothing with logos which detracts from their use in themed outfits with other clothing parts.
