I like trophies, they definitely add an extra incentive to any game.

I like getting them and wish I had at least 1 platinum but I haven't really went out of my way to get any besides Uncharted 2 and still couldn't get the platinum on that. I like to play games but I think it's not as fun when you work too hard at getting a platinum trophy in a game.
I agree. Games like Assassin's Creed series where you got to look for the flags and feathers for trophies/achievements just do not hold my interest. I can't think of anything more boring than scouring a game's map for such small things. LIkewise with getting trophies/achievements for completing a game on the hardest level. I have no desire to keep dying and dying for something that in the end means little to me.
I did that once basically to prove a point. I've seen it said numerous times that getting a Platinum in a game proves "skill" especially beating a game on it's Hardest mode or (some games just hard). I got a Platinum in UC2 (but not 100% as I have no interest in the online Trophies). I think my death count on hard was 270. I then used a "glitch" to beat it on Crushing, where my death count was a bit less at around 230. (Uncharted keeps track of stats like that.) I only got a Plat in UC2 out of sheer stubborness. Not skill. Getting Plats doesn't mean a gamer is skilled. With enough time and a refusal to quit, anyone can get a Plat. (Although maybe not in a game that requires high rankings on leaderboards like Killzone 2.)
Overall I like games like R&C: A Crack in Time and the Sly Collection. Getting Trophies is a by product of basic gaming. Sure some of the Trophies come from collecting certain items, but collecting those items usually gives you new skills or abilities. That makes item collection worthwhile. It serves a point.

Don't care, seems like they just make up for an otherwise useless game allowing developers to become completly lazy.
I can see people not caring about trophies and i'm cool with that as long as they don't rain on my parade, but i dont necessarily agree that trophies allow game developers to be lazy.
People don't just go out and buy crappy games just so they can its trophies. If i rent a game and its crap i might be inclined to try and trudge through it to get what trophies i can while i have it in my possession, BUT I'm not inclined re-rent much less purchase that game just because i want its Platinum trophy.
Trophies don't make up for crappy games either and devs know this. If their game is bad then people are less likely to play future games they may make. If you played a crappy game its not because the developers thought that the trophies gave them license to be lazy, its because the devs just flat out did a crap job.
I beg to differ. I have seen more than a few people claim to have bought or rented some really crappy games just for the easy Platinums. Hannah Montana and Terminator come to mind. A crappy game with easy Trophies will be played by Thousands for the boost to their counts, while many great games without Trophies go unplayed. This is not quite as common now that Trophies are forced upon us, but take games like Oblivion (PS3 version) and MGS IV. I have seen many people say they will not buy or play any game without Trophy support.

Don't care.
If a game needs trophies for 'replayability' (is that even a word? ), then the game itself must not have been as good as it should've been to begin with IMO.

to add to my earlier statement . yes i bought Uncharted : Drake's Fortune again just so i can get teh last few trophies i did not earn . ill do the sdame with Uncharted 2 and Infamous, WET, and a few others. id raly love to get the Bad COmpany 2 platinum but i hate flying helicopters so airkill and 50 kills on veitnam helis will not come soon so stuck at 97% complete. and yes adding replay value yes i agree thats what that does. and i also agree but i think seeing someone with less than 10% of a games trophies to me im thinking "does thsi person own thsi game or prolly just rented it ?" although i do have a few games on my list above 40% that i have rented and no longer own and even a few above 80% i do not own anymore. platinum doesnt mean squat if u ask me u can have 75% complete and have a platinum trophy . Batlefield Bad Company 2 and REsident Evil 5 for examples both can have the platinums with only 70% complete( because % goes by the added content such as versus mode for RE5 and Veitnam for BC2. so all in all im proud of my 97% complete on BC2 sadly no platinum (yet).
